Recently, the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province announced the 2025 list of Zhejiang Provincial “Belt and Road” Silk Road Institutes. The Kazakhstan Silk Road Institute of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE) was successfully selected. This is a significant achievement for the university in actively responding to the national “Belt and Road” Initiative (BRI) and deepening international education cooperation.

Since its establishment in 2023, the Kazakhstan Silk Road Institute has leveraged the university’s strengths in economics and management disciplines to serve the Central Asia region. It has developed the Silk Road Business Training Program, actively supported talent cultivation in cross-border e-commerce and digital trade, and organized programs such as the Digital Economy Summer Camp and the Chinese Bridge cultural exchange activities to promote educational and people-to-people exchanges between China and Central Asia. The university has also organized faculty to conduct research and provide guidance at the Kazakhstan branches of Chinese-funded enterprises such as Zeekr, Xinxing Construction, and YTO Logistics.

Zhejiang Provincial “Belt and Road” Silk Road Institute aims to support high-level education cooperation between provincial universities and countries along the “Belt and Road,” serving the “Going Global” strategy of enterprises. This selection marks a new milestone in ZUFE’s internationalized education and injects new momentum into deepening Zhejiang Province’s economic cooperation with Central Asia.
