On September 22, Dong Jincai, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice president, met with a visiting delegation led by Andrew Edwards, Vice-Chancellor of Bangor University.

On behalf of the school, Dong Jincai extended a warm welcome to the visitors and reviewed the achievements made by the two sides in recent years in inter-school visits, cooperative education, and teacher-student exchanges. He said that the undergraduate finance program launched in 2015 and jointly run by the two universities has enrolled more than 1,100 students, and has achieved good results faculty recruitment and program development, which has been fully affirmed by employers. We hope to continue to consolidate the existing cooperation foundation and expand cooperative education in data sciences, statistics and other fields.

Andrew Edwards spoke highly of the outcomes delivered under the bilateral cooperation projects. He expressed his institution’s commitment to advancing practical cooperation between the two universities in areas including joint education programmes, youth exchange and mutual learning, as well as joint research.

During the visit, the delegation of Bangor University held in-depth talks with representatives of faculty and students of the School of Finance, and conducted in-depth discussions on curriculum setting, academic horizon expansion and career planning.

Heads of the School of Finance, the School of Data Sciences and the International Office attended the meeting.
