ZUFE Leaders Attend the Inaugural Ceremony of Zhejiang Provincial Area Studies Center

On September 22, the Inaugural Ceremony of Zhejiang Provincial Area Studies Center was held at Zhejiang Normal University. More than 80 people, including Guo Huawei, Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Science, Jiang Yunliang, Party Secretary of Zhejiang Normal University, Fan Jun, Party Member and Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Science, Chen Hao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jinhua Municipal Committee and Head of the Publicity Department, Chen Mingyi, Party Member and Secretary General of Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Science, heads of Provincial Area Studies Center in Zhejiang Province, heads of scientific research management office of Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Science, municipal social science federation and other departments attended the event. Vice President Zheng Yali attended the ceremony and accepted the plaque of Zhejiang Provincial Area Studies Center on behalf of the Institute for Central Asia Studies, ZUFE of the school.

During the meeting, a symposium concerning the development of Zhejiang Provincial Area Studies Center took place. As its representative, Zheng Yali delivered a presentation on the current research strengths and future roadmap of ZUFE’s Institute for Central Asia Studies, ZUFE, which won high acclaim from all attendees.

It is reported that Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Science announced 13 newly added Provincial Area Studies Centers. Institute for Central Asia Studies, ZUFE of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE) was successfully selected as a Provincial Area Studies Center, and is one of the three key think tanks approved this time. This indicates that our university has made remarkable achievements in the discipline construction of Area Studies and Institute for Central Asia Studies, ZUFE.

Next, the Institute for Central Asia Studies, ZUFE of the school will further implement the “"New Finance and Economics Strategy"”, give full play to the advantages of financial disciplines, carry forward the “Finance & Economics plus” orientation, form a comprehensive and interdisciplinary discipline system such as “tax +”, “finance +”, “industry +”, “trade +”, “management +”, “governance +” and “culture +” in Central Asian studies, and build a discipline system, academic system and discourse system of Central Asian studies with distinctive finance-economics characteristics.
