ZUFE Leaders Celebrate Chinese New Year with On-Campus International Students

Time:February 10, 2026  clicks:

On February 8, Zheng Yali, Vice President of ZUFE, visited the “Hehe Family” (Harmony Family) in the international students' dormitories, offering Spring Festival greetings and regards to international students on campus during the winter holiday.

Zheng presented them with festive gifts, and encouraged them to strive to learn Chinese well, deepen their understanding of Chinese culture, share their stories of celebrating Chinese New Year, and serve as bridges and envoys for cultural exchange between China and other countries. She also specially expressed thanks to the dormitory staff who remained on duty during the holiday and offered them her New Year's wishes.

Inside the “Hehe Family,” red lanterns and colorful decorations created a warm, festive atmosphere. Students from around the world gathered to grind ink and write auspicious Spring Festival couplets and the Fu Character (meaning good fortune). They deftly crafted intricate paper-cut window decorations and handmade lanterns glowing with celebratory cheer. Laughter filled the air amid the scent of ink and the warmth of paper. Meanwhile, in the activity room, traditional games such as shuttlecock kicking and pitch-pot (touhu) were in full swing, with students cheering each other on as they discovered the joy of these time-honored pastimes.

Afterward, Zheng visited a student's dormitory to check on an international student recovering from an injury. She expressed concern about his recovery, urged him to focus on recuperation, and wished him a speedy recovery and a safe, pleasant Spring Festival holiday.

This activity not only delivered the university's sincere blessings to international students staying on campus, but also built a vivid bridge for cultural exchanges through a rich variety of cultural experience events. International students beamed with joy, sharing that despite being far from home, they had found a deep sense of “Chinese New Year atmosphere” and a strong sense of belonging within the warm community at ZUFE.

It is reported that over 200 international students from 22 countries stayed on campus during this winter holiday. ZUFE had made comprehensive arrangements in advance, including a detailed holiday safety plan and a round-the-clock duty system, to ensure that all international students could enjoy a safe and joyful Chinese New Year.
