On March 6, Chen Yantai, Vice Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of ZUFE, met with a delegation led by Assylbek Kozhakhmetov, President of Almaty Management University (AlmaU) of Kazakhstan, and Sholpan Tazabek, Vice President of AlmaU. The two sides signed a dual-degree program agreement.

On behalf of ZUFE, Chen Yantai extended a warm welcome to the guests and reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities in recent years, including inter-university exchanges, personnel training, talent development, and academic research. He noted that the two sides have interacted frequently since forming a partnership in 2024, and the jointly launched Silk Road Institute in Kazakhstan has achieved fruitful results. He expressed hope to further support the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), deepen the development of the Silk Road Institute, and build an international industry-university-research platform integrating talent training, social services, and country and region studies.

Assylbek Kozhahmetov spoke highly of the achievements of the bilateral cooperation projects and expressed his willingness to actively promote practical cooperation in joint talent development and scientific research.

Founded in 1988, Almaty Management University is Kazakhstan’s first business university. Its Business School ranks among the top 3 in Central Asia and is the only institution in Central Asia accredited by AMBA (Association of MBAs). Under the agreement, the two universities will jointly launch master’s dual-degree programs in International Trade and International Law to cultivate high-caliber professionals for China-Kazakhstan economic and trade cooperation.

Representatives from the School of International Education and Studies, Graduate School, School of Economics, School of Law, and International Office attended the signing ceremony.
