The 5th Forum for Young and Middle-aged Finance Scholars Held at ZUFE

On May 25, the Fifth Forum for Young and Middle-aged Finance Scholars with the theme of "Financial and Taxation System Reform and High-quality Growth in the New Era" was held on the Xiasha campus of ZUFE. Nearly 50 experts and scholars from more than 20 universities and research institutes across the country attended the forum.

Vice President Li Zhanrong attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. On behalf of ZUFE, he welcomed the guests attending this forum and briefly introduced the basic situation of the university and the construction of the finance and taxation academic discipline.

Professor Junxue Jia of Renmin University of China, Professor Yiming Wang of Xiamen University, Professor Hongsheng Fang of Zhejiang University, Professor Wenlin Fu of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Professor Ge Jin of the School of Finance and Taxation at ZUFE respectively made a keynote report on such topics as population policy, income distribution, economic growth, labor income share decline, the widening of the gap between the rich and the poor: a political and economic analysis, the inverted U-shaped law of the evolution of China's central public finance revenue concentration after the tax-sharing system, some understandings of the division of public finance powers and expenditure responsibilities among Chinese governments, the development of dynamic public finance theory and the research on optimal public finance rules under income taxes and so on.

Participants discussed and exchanged views on the following topics, including intergovernmental public finance relations and transfer payment system, corporate action and local government debt, tax reduction, tax system reform, the development mode transformation and high-quality development, basic public finance theory and income distribution reform, etc.

The Forum for Young and Middle-aged Public Finance Scholars is initiated by ZUFE and co-sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Think Tank, Local Public Finance Research Institute and the School of Finance and Taxation of ZUFE. It has been held in Hangzhou every year since 2015. It aims to provide a high starting point, deep, multi-disciplinary and most cutting-edge academic platform for young and middle-aged public finance scholars at home and abroad to broaden academic horizons and activate academic thinking.
