On April 27, The Third China Economists Forum (TTCEF), co-sponsored by SUN YEFANG FOUNDATION, Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences Circles and ZUFE, was held at the Xiasha Campus. The theme of this forum is: Private Economy in the New Era: Opportunities and Breakthroughs. More than 600 people attended the opening ceremony,including economists from research institutes such as China Center for International Economic Exchanges, Research Center of the State Council, Chinese Academy of Social Science, and universities like Zhejiang University and Nankai University, government representatives, elite alumni representatives in business, school leaders, teachers and students. The opening ceremony and keynote report of the forum were delivered by Xinbo Lu, Deputy Secretary of the university’s Party Committee, and Zhanrong Li, Vice President in Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics.

On behalf of the SUN YEFANG FOUNDATION, he congratulated on the successful convening of TTCCEF. He pointed out that this forum has brought together senior experts from academic circles, government department staff, and business elites. They can freely express their views on hot spots which are bound to inspire innovation and reform, enriching economic development theories, exploring engines for private business economy to make major breakthroughs. Moreover, ZUFE has achieved leap-forward development and extraordinary achievements over the past 45 years, which also serves as an excellent example of Zhejiang's economic and cultural development.

The Party Secretary made a speech passionately. He said that since its foundation, China Economist Forum has focused on the frontier and hot issues in the economic and social development in the new era by offering suggestions for the prospect of Zhejiang Province. It has gradually become a highly influential forum in China's economic circles with people's attention from the academic, political and industrial circles. He expects that through this academic platform, the well-known experts and scholars across the country can actively conduct discussion and seminars, so that the problems encountered in the practice of Zhejiang's private economy, the experience and lessons obtained can be refined and evolved into academic theories. By doing so, China's economic theory can be enriched, and the entire philosophy and social science can be bettered, providing feasible inspirations to the high-quality economic development in Zhejiang.

Jinchang Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of ZUFE, made a brief introduction concerning the basic situation of the university. Mr. Li said that the university would take this forum as an opportunity, upholding the spirit of ZUFE -- "being curious, studious, helpful, innovative, and courageous", and making great contributions to Zhejiang Province or even the world through following the advanced movement of the economic and social development and promoting personnel training, discipline construction, scientific researches, and social service capabilities.
