The International Conference on Applied Finance, Macroeconomic Performance and Economic Growth, co-sponsored by theEconomic Modellingjournal and ZUFE, was held at ZUFE's Xiasha Campus from October 20 to 21. More than 50 experts and scholars from home and abroad gathered at ZUFE to discuss the underlying development principles of world economy and finance.
Address by Vice President Zhanyong Li
Vice President Zhanrong Li attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. On behalf of ZUFE, he welcomed the experts and scholars and gave a brief introduction to the university. He hoped that the scholarly discussions and exchanges of ideas at the conference would provide a solid and reliable theoretical basis for sustained economic growth and innovative development of the financial market. In the end, he wished the conference to be a success.

In his speech, Xiaohong Zhang, Director of ZUFE China Institute of Finance, pointed out that the fields of applied finance and macroeconomics were facing unprecedented new challenges. The conference provided both an excellent opportunity for scholars and experts to exchange ideas and wisdom, and an important platform to share scientific and theoretical achievements in the fields of economics and finance.
Keynote Speech by Professor Paresh, Editor-in-Chief ofEconomic Modelling
Research Fellow Xiahui Liu, Director of the Editorial Board ofEconomic Research, Professor Bo Liu from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Professor Paresh Kumar Narayan, Editor-in-Chief ofEconomic Modelling, and Professor Jinqiang Yang from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics spoke respectively on "How to Cross the Middle Income Stage", "'Speculating on New Stocks' in China's Stock Markets", "Academic Paper Writing" and "Endowment Fund Model and Portfolio Theory" respectively.
The conference was a success, and provided both a platform for academic exchanges between Chinese and foreign experts, and scholars in finance and new ways for academic cooperation. At the same time, the conference extended ZUFE's influence in the international academic community and laid a solid foundation for future international cooperation and increased direction for academic research.
