Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics "Jiangnan Culture and Contemporary Zhejiang" Chinese Bridge Online Winter Camp, organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, started at ZUFE’s Xiasha Campus on Jan 18th. ZUFE Vice President Li Zhanrong, director of the Chinese Language Department of Eurasian University in Kazakhstan, Akbar Khan Davulet, and Philippine director of the Confucius Institute at Angeles University Foundation, Pei Gang, addressed the opening ceremony. Heads from the School of International Education and Studies, leaders of the "Jiangnan Culture and Contemporary Zhejiang" Chinese Bridge program, and over 180 students and teachers around the world attended the meeting online.

Attaching great importance to education on traditional Chinese culture for international students, ZUFE's Wenhua Academy was established to prompt the distinctive cultivation of 'culture+major', which has been widely recognized by the community. The Wenhua Academy provides curricula combining traditional Chinese culture with contemporary civilization, which is a significant attempt to tell the story of China to and promote cultural exchange with other countries.

"The curricula feature Chinese characteristics," observed Akbar Khan Davulet. "The Online Winter Camp serves as a distance-denying opportunity for students to learn from each other, overcoming the difficulties set by the pandemic. I hope the two universities will advance cultural exchanges between China and Kazakhstan through strengthened cooperation."

"Chinese language education thrives in the Philippines, facing students with great enthusiasm," Pei suggested. "The Chinese Bridge Winter Camp features rich activities, offering overseas students a platform where they can learn from and help each other, enhance their Chinese proficiency, and appreciate the distinctive Chinese culture."

The Camp team will visit seven museums and ten real scenes, contributing to a distinctive curriculum with Jiangnan characteristics. In the following ten days, students can savor the charm of traditional Chinese culture and contemporary Zhejiang via videos online.
