On January 31, New Year's Eve, the school restaurant was full of laughter and warmth. Vice Presidents Li Zhanrong and Xu Xiaodong spent New Year's Eve with teachers and students staying in the school to welcome the coming of Year of the Tiger.
Due to the necessity of epidemic prevention and control, this New Year's Eve dinner took the form of a buffet. The school restaurant not only took the eating habits of different regions into consideration, but also retained the characteristics of a traditional New Year's Eve dinner in the dishes. The meal was well-balanced, including braised beef and mutton, salted shrimp, boiled chicken slices, scrambled egg with tomato, and sautéed seasonal vegetables. The restaurant also offered fruits and drinks and specially set up a halal stall, which let teachers and students who stayed in school fully enjoy the flavor of the New Year.
In response to the "Stay Put During Spring Festival" initiative, more than 50 international students and over 100 faculty and staff from Russia, Germany, South Africa, Kazakhstan, and other countries and regions chose to stay in school for the new year. On the basis of earnestly implementing the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, the relevant functional departments and colleges of the University have done a solid job in guaranteeing service, so that teachers and students who stayed in school can feel at home though they are far away from their hometowns.
