2021 National Tax Risk Control Cases Finals for College Students Held at ZUFE

Tax Risk Control Cases Finals for National Colleges and Universities 2021 was held at ZUFE’s Xiasha Campus on Apr. 15, 2021. Relevant leaders of the State Administration of Taxation and China Certified Tax Agents Association (CCTAA), such as CPC Vice Secretary and President Zhong Xiaomin, Vice President Li Zhanrong, Deputy director of Zhejiang Taxation Bureau Liu Bingrong, President of Zhejiang Certified Tax Agents Association Xing Youping, Secretary General Ding Dan and Director of Higher Education Department in Zhejiang Province Lu Hua, attended the opening and closing ceremonies. As Vice President of CCTAA, Xie Bin hosted the opening ceremony and Li Linjun presided over the closing ceremony. Due to the epidemic, online defense was adopted for the final with both Beijing and Zhejiang venues. The command center of the Zhejiang venue was located at ZUFE.

Song Lan, President of CCTAA, announced the official opening of the competition via remote video. She said that she hoped to continue to deepen tax law education for teenagers through cooperative education mechanism between the tax accounting sector and colleges in order to cultivate more excellent tax-related professionals, and create a strong academic atmosphere for the whole society to pay tax with sincerity.

In his speech, Zhong Xiaomin introduced the history, facts, and vision of ZUFE, and said that the school will hold this competition as an opportunity to further strengthen exchange and cooperation with tax departments, industry associations, enterprises, and institutions as well as other colleges and universities, and enhance our solid foundation and level of education with the goal of developing into a first-class university of finance and economics.

Yang Canming, Vice Chairman of China Teaching Guidance Committee for Public Finance Majors under the Ministry of Education and President of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Zhang Guocai, Secretary General of Higher Financial & Economic Branch of China Higher Education Association delivered a video speech on the theme of "cultivation of tax professionals" and "Five ‘One’ Project (a good book, a good TV series, a good play, a good film, a good article)." It is considered that the competition had met the requirements of the government to popularize tax law education, provided the tax accounting sector with a channel for finding reserve talents, and broken through the obstacles of innovative talents training in colleges and universities.

After fierce competition, 12 universities won the first prize. They are Xiamen University, Peking University, Nanchang University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, China University of Political Science and Law, Hunan University, Chongqing University of Technology, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Lanzhou University of Technology, Harbin University of Commerce, and Shandong University.

According to Xie Bin at the closing ceremony, we should promote teaching, learning, and training through this competition to truly improve students' professional skills and employment competitiveness. Regarding competitions as seeds and sowing them in a hundred schools, ZUFE, a permanent competition base, always practices the spirit of striving "to cultivate the moral self, govern the state, be pragmatic, innovative, brave, and enterprising", to build a collaborative innovation platform for government, industry, and universities, and continuously develop high-quality comprehensive talents with financial thinking for all walks of life.

This final was held under the guidance of the Tax Service Division of the State Taxation Administration, China Teaching Guidance Committee for Public Finance Majors under the Ministry of Education and Higher Financial and Economic Branch of the China Higher Education Association, hosted by CCTAA and organized by ZUFE and the Zhejiang Certified Tax Agents Association. At present, it is the finance professional competition with the largest number of participants, the widest range, the largest scale, and the highest level among universities in China, and has been widely noted since its start. More than 2,000 students of 723 teams from 425 colleges and universities in 36 regions signed up for the competition, and a total of 118 teams advanced to the national final.
