On May 22, the Departure Ceremony of the “Crossing Mountains and Seas, Moving Forward in Harmony” World Top Universities Study Tour and the “Safe Study Abroad” Pre-departure Training Session were held at the Academic Center. Vice President Zheng Yali attended the meeting and delivered a speech. More than 300 people attended the meeting, including heads of relevant functional departments and colleges, project leading tutors, and students who will study abroad in the second half of the year.
On behalf of ZUFE, Vice President Zheng Yali extended congratulations to the students who are about to go overseas for exchange and study, and put forward three requirements. First, fully recognize the importance of studying abroad. Studying abroad is an important path for ZUFE to deeply implement the “"New Finance and Economics Strategy"”, advance the “Four New Systems”, and cultivate MAQ-oriented Talents with an international perspective and a sense of commitment to the country, which is of great significance for deepening international cooperation, promoting people-to-people connectivity, and building an education powerhouse. Second, inherit the fine tradition of studying abroad to serve the motherland. Students should always keep in mind the original aspiration of patriotism, the perseverance of diligent study, the confidence to overcome difficulties, and the bottom line of safety, and bravely step onto the world stage with an open, inclusive, harmonious and symbiotic mindset. Third, firmly build the security line of defense for “Safe Study Abroad”. Each group should conduct risk assessment and evaluation, and formulate emergency response plans. Tutors should strictly implement their responsibilities and always put student safety first. Students should follow unified arrangements and management, and carry forward the team spirit of mutual assistance.

Caroline Lai, Director of the Summer School Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada delivered a speech on behalf of overseas partner universities. She encouraged students to make full use of the study opportunities and educational resources to strengthen mutual learning and appreciation with young people from various countries.
Xu Liling, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics, spoke for all accompanying teachers. She stated that the teaching staff would fulfill their duties as safety supervisors, mentors and publicity coordinators to fully ensure students’ safety, studies and daily life overseas. Xu Ziwei, an undergraduate from the School of Finance, and Li Han, a postgraduate from Zhejiang Research Institute, delivered speeches as student representatives of outbound participants.
Representatives of the Student Affairs Office, Security Department, Academic Affairs Office and Graduate School, together with those from the Finance Division and Psychological Counseling Center, presented travel safety kits to student representatives.
After the ceremony, ZUFE held the “Safe Study Abroad” Pre-departure Training Session. Representatives from the Psychological Counseling Center, Security Department and International Office delivered special sessions on cross-cultural adaptation and psychological resilience, overseas safety risk prevention as well as study safety and consular protection to help faculty and students raise safety awareness.
It is reported that more than 310 students will embark on exchange programs at universities in Hong Kong (China), Singapore, the United Kingdom, Canada, the Republic of Korea and other regions in the second half of this year.
