Recently, two ZUFE international students, Polyakov Vyacheslav (Wei Chen) and Krainov Daniil (Shan Beiming), were invited to attend the Youth Forum on Global Competence themed “Global Competence and Sustainable Development”. Hosted by Beijing Foreign Studies University, the event was held in Hong Kong, gathering experts from international organizations, global governance practitioners and over 100 outstanding Chinese and international young scholars.
At the opening ceremony, Jia Wenjian, President of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Zhao Ruheng, Vice President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, delivered speeches respectively, while Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, addressed the forum via video link. During the forum, 39 youth delegates shared insights and put forward proposals around the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), demonstrating the responsibility of young people worldwide. Drawing on his study experience at ZUFE, Polyakov Vyacheslav (Wei Chen) shared his views on educational reform in his speech. He stressed that while innovative teaching tools should be leveraged to build an education model driven by both gamification and immersive learning, equal importance should be attached to improving teaching conduct and study atmosphere to enable education rooted its original mission of fostering talents and pursuing knowledge. His inspiring speech impressed all judges and young participants, earning him the title of Outstanding Delegate. Krainov Daniil (Shan Beiming) served as the host of the closing session.

Young people unite for shared global prosperity. Starting from their personal experiences, the two ZUFE young participants injected youthful vitality and offered youth-led solutions to build a more sustainable and inclusive future through this forum. ZUFE will keep cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial international MAQ-oriented Talents with global vision and solid cross-cultural competence, provide more outstanding professionals for global governance, and further build the “Study Abroad at ZUFE” brand.
