Center for Data Sciences and Big Data Analysis

Collaborative Innovation Center for Data Science and Big Data Analysis (hereinafter abbreviated as "the Center") is to meet, including but not limited to, the major needs to adapt to the new economic development of China and Zhejiang Province with digital economy at their core, to further promote the modernization of government governance and public service capability, to prevent financial risks, and to optimize land resource allocation. Following the principle of "demand orientation, joint research, and coordinated development", initiated by Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE), the Center was jointly established by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Finance, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Land Resources, Hithink Royalflush Information Network Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Yunsuan Xinda Data Technology Co., Ltd., Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, and The University of British Columbia. Targeting to be "leading in Zhejiang and first-class in China", the Center focuses on the methodological and technological innovation of big data analysis. It mainly carries out applied research in four fields, namely, measurement and effect analysis of new economy with digital economy as the main body, measurement and prediction of financial revenue and expenditure structure and effect, measurement and control of financial risks, and monitoring and optimum allocation of land resources. Through joint research on core technologies and major key issues, the Center has become a highland for big data scientific research, data analysis talent training and boosting Zhejiang social and economic development.

The Center was recognized as Zhejiang Province 2011 Collaborative Innovation Center in October 2019, setting up a total of six R&D teams for big data theory and method research, data mining technology research, new economic big data analysis, fiscal big data analysis, financial big data analysis, and land resources big data analysis. The center boasts strong research strength, with more than 90 full-time and part-time staff members, including 13 doctoral supervisors, 23 professors, and 34 associate professors and associate researchers.
